Connecting to Nature
You’ve likely heard discussions about masculine and feminine energies and how both exist within each of us. As we explore this duality more deeply, we recognize its presence throughout history and across various traditions. From the balance of yin and yang to the divine counterparts Apollo and Artemis—even down to the left and right sides of our bodies—masculine and feminine energies continuously shape our experience. Their influence has been woven into myths and lore since the dawn of time.
What are these energies really about? The masculine energy within us is structured and has a clear direction. Our masculine energy is tenacious and focused; this part of us can solve problems and stay focused. It is strength in the way we know it traditionally.
But our feminine energy? Well she is very strong too. She is strength like the power of the ocean, rising and falling with crashing waves that are constantly changing form. Our feminine energy is tapped into our creativity and easily allows us to connect with others. We feel into our feminine energy when we see the greater meaning in life and when we feel that magnetic energy pulling us towards our intuition.
But what does that mean for us in real life and the day to day of our existence? Our masculine and feminine energies are an invitation to observe the balance we have in ourselves and our lived experience. Are we feeling the time for both productivity and creativity? Are we feeling secure and connected in the relationships we have? Do we feel spacious and resilient? These things are indicators that we are nurturing both our masculine and feminine energy.
While of course we always want to feel resilient, connected, and creative, we know that different parts of our lives call us to lean more into the masculine or feminine parts of ourselves. When the world is chaotic, we may need to pull in structure and focus. Or when life feels overwhelming, we may get lost in the flow of our hearts desire and lose sight of our forward momentum. No matter where you are in this moment, know that you’re not alone—we’ve all been there. You’re doing an amazing job.
We invite you to take some time to explore how the balance between this two parts of you is currently. Below are some journal prompts to help you explore this balance within you.
- How does each day FEEL to me? Which energy is more dominant for me and in what ways do I notice its presence?
- What ways do you I strong? How do I access my own strength?
- Where in my life do I embrace flow? Where do I resist it?
- What does true harmony between action and surrender look like for me?
Wishing you balance and exploration in the day, week, and month ahead!
With love,
April & Lena
