Welcoming in Softness

Wellness

The buzz of June is here—can you feel it? Maybe your kids are wrapping up the school year, or work is moving at full speed. However this month is unfolding for you, chances are you could use a little softness. So I invite you to join me in this guided meditation. Take it one line at a time, and follow along in whatever way feels good in your body.

Let’s welcome in softness together:

Softness Guided Meditation:

Take a deep inhale in through your nose, out through your mouth…

Sit up straight in your chair, taking notice of each point of  your body that connects with the chair or floor beneath you..

Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your stomach…take another deep breath in and out…

Bringing your mind’s eye to the very top of your head, imagine a softness starting at the crown of your head and spreading downward…

Relax your scalp, and temples, and jaw. Relax your tongue.

Envision this softness spreading down your neck and arms.

Soften your shoulders, letting them loosen and fall down..allow your hands to fall and shake out any tension…

Imagine the feeling of softness traveling down your torso and hips..

Let your belly release and soften (without judgment)…

Wiggle your hips in your seat…

Allow the softness to flow down your legs and down into your feet….

Relax the muscles of your thighs and calves. Wiggle your toes and let your feet fall or hang if you can.

Taking another very deep breath in, and on the exhale, allowing yourself to loosen and let go any remaining tension.

Continue taking deep breaths as long as your wish, as time allows. Setting the intention of yourself to invite in softness and ease.

Perhaps coming back to this feeling at least one other time today or tomorrow – utilizing your breath to invite in softness.
