Embracing the Renewal of Spring

Wellness

As we move through the final stretch of winter, we find ourselves hurtling toward spring and all the renewal it brings. The Spring Equinox (March 20th) is fast approaching—a moment I like to call “nature’s New Year.” It marks the turning of the seasonal wheel and the beginning of a fresh cycle in both nature and life. Spring aligns with the “maiden” phase of our journey, symbolizing youth, growth, and new possibilities. It also marks the astrological New Year, the start of a new zodiac cycle. In every way, this is a time of fresh beginnings.

With so many cycles resetting, what are you feeling called toward? Spring naturally stirs impulses for renewal—whether that means starting a new project, embracing a healthier routine, or simply spending more time outdoors. Perhaps you feel drawn to plant a garden, take daily walks in the crisp air, or set new intentions for the months ahead.

As we honor these final days of winter, it’s worth asking: What seeds have I planted during the colder months that I now want to nurture? Winter often invites us to turn inward, to reflect, and to dream. Now, as the days grow longer, what ideas, hopes, or aspirations are beginning to take root? Spring is an invitation to align with nature’s rhythm—embracing growth, renewal, and the promise of new beginnings.

If you’re feeling uncertain about where to direct your energy, we have a simple exercise to help you tap into your inner wisdom. Below, you’ll find a link to a mandala coloring page. Print it out, and as you color, ask yourself: What seeds do I want to grow this spring? Let your mind stay open, and see what insights emerge as you create.

Finally, here are some inspiring ways to celebrate the Spring Equinox! Take a look below and see what resonates with you.

  1. Watch the Sunrise and Sunset – The Equinox marks a perfect balance of day and night, making it a great time to appreciate the sun’s journey.

  2. Create an Equinox Altar – Decorate a small space with symbols of renewal, such as fresh flowers, seeds, candles, and eggs.

  3. Plant Seeds or a Garden – Celebrate new beginnings by planting flowers, herbs, or vegetables to honor nature’s cycle of growth.

  4. Cleanse and Refresh Your Space – Engage in a deep spring cleaning to clear out stagnant energy and welcome the fresh energy of the season.

  5. Perform a Balancing Ritual – Light a candle and reflect on the balance in your life, setting intentions for harmony moving forward.

  6. Enjoy a Seasonal Feast – Prepare a meal featuring fresh, local spring ingredients like greens, sprouts, honey, and eggs.

  7. Spend Time in Nature – Go for a mindful walk, have a picnic, or simply sit outside and observe the signs of spring around you.

  8. Practice Gratitude and Reflection – Journal about what you’re leaving behind in winter and what you’re welcoming with the new season.

Wishing you a beautiful week!
